Please be advised that the prize giving of the “Ecosystems” Photography Contest will take place on the 29th of November, in the main hall of the Municipal Assembly, at 18.30h.

Between November 29th and December 16th, the “Ecossistemas” Photographic Exhibition will be on display in the exhibition room of the Historical Building of Paços do Concelho, which includes the 20 best photographs selected by the jury, including the 5 winners of the competition.

This competition addressed the annual theme for 2021, launched within the scope of the Blue Flag award and had 18 participants who accepted the challenge of capturing images about the ecosystems of the island of Porto Santo, regardless of their size or conservation status and that convey the urgency of the need for a harmonious relationship between man and the environment.

To join the Jury, we invited Vera Menezes, born in Porto Santo, graduated in Technology and Graphic Arts by the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Pedro Leandro, born in Leiria, graduated in Real Estate Management and Mediation by INUAF and who is currently dedicated to photography and Gina Brito e Mendes, born in Porto Santo, holds a doctorate in biology.

We thank all those who participated in this competition, leaving a special thanks to the members of the jury for their availability and excellent collaboration in this initiative.
