A procedure that was in charge of the Municipal Library, which on November 20th will commemorate the National Pajama Day, an activity of the Educational Plan of the Municipality, as through the Library, schools and institutions in Porto Santo were encouraged to join the this initiative.

The National Pajama Day is an educational and solidarity day made by children who help other children. On this day, the little ones come to school dressed in pajamas and thus spend the day filled with educational activities. In the weeks before this day, the educators and teachers organize, in the room with the children and families, a set of playful and educational activities inspired by the Pajama Mission. The date coincides with the day of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This is a day when young children annually remind everyone that "a child has the right to grow up in a family". The EB1/PE and Porto Santo Day Care Center, the School of Nossa Senhora da Conceição – Externato, the Pé do Pico Children's Center and the Porto Santo Municipal Library are registered in the Pajama Mission.

Usually, the National Pajama Day takes place on November 20th, but because it coincides with the weekend, schools will celebrate on the 22nd. In order not to interfere with the activities scheduled by the schools, the City Council, through the Library Municipal, will commemorate this day on November 20 (Saturday), at 18:00 in Praça do Município.
