To mark World Book Day, the Porto Santo City Council, through the "Municipal Library", went to schools and promoted an activity for the students of the preschool at the Externato of Nossa da Conceição, the Children's Center of Pé do Pico of the Basic School of the 1st Cycle with Pre-School and Day Care in Porto Santo, with reading sessions of the book "À Descoberta do Porto das Salemas", by Maria Luís Carvalho Homem.

Today is celebrated World Book Day, an event marked since 1996 by UNESCO decision, with the aim of calling attention to the importance of books, as a fundamental element for the development of literacy, as well as promoting reading habits.

The Municipal Library of Porto Santo has thousands of books of different literary genres at its disposal. There is the right book for every reader!
